Thanksgiving already?

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Oh boy! Where has the time gone? Here it is, the day after Thanksgiving! I’d love to hear about your Thanksgiving - and we do hope that you had a very nice day and weekend. We had some of our family over for dinner, football, and what has become to be known as our “Internet Cafe”. Usually it is just the women (sorry about separating the women from the men - but I do think we like to shop more than they do…) Anyway, - we all set up our laptops, and check out the Black Friday specials, and laugh, drink lots of coffee, and of course, have pumpkin pie! (Cherry apple pie too!) Yesterday we had to spend a little time at Ecology Sports - one of our favorite places to shop in Door County. We’ve been busy! We cut our Christmas tree yesterday, decorated it, and then did our annual “Tour of Lights” - walking through the Seaquist yard, showing off our outdoor lights to each other! (We are easily amused!). Tomorrow the house will quiet down again - as Laura heads back to Wheaton College. Bonnie and Allen left today for Luther College and St. Olaf College - but they’ll all be back home soon. It’s difficult to stay away from Door County for very long!

What we hope to see next summer

What we hope to see next summer

Visiting Seaquist Orchards Farm Market on busy fall weekend is like going to an old time county fair. There is lots of food on display that you can sample before you buy. Dale Seaquist is in the apple barn talking apples and handing out samples. The bakery case is full of apple, cherry and three-berry pies, cherry buttons, warm apple cider donuts and more. There is a hay bale maze for the kids and a picnic/playground to for you to relax at while you enjoy some treats from the market. So pay us a visit before the end of the season. But remember if you miss us in person, you can still shop online for many of the good things we feature in the market.
