Waking Up in Michigan – A Photo Diary of a Weekend Up North – Family Fun!

Friday, February 19th, 2010

It has been the winter tradition for a group of Seaquists and their relatives to meet at a cabin in Upper Michigan for a long weekend. Each year, lots of love and laughter are shared! Skiing of all sorts, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, walks along the lake, movie nights, puzzles, knitting…We love to do it all! Here’s a glimpse of our fun together:

As posted on Facebook, A Short Story: The Dreamers’ Rock

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Hi folks! It’s been a few weeks…

Hoping the year has started off well for you! To brighten this moment, here’s a short story:

Once upon a time there were two dreamers who sat upon a rock and vigorously dreamt. They dreamt of jams and apple cider slushies, plump cherries and hay mazes, full bellies and beaming faces. The dreamers (Dale and Kristin Seaquist, of course) pondered the ways to best serve and invite customers; “How will we do it?” they thought. Well, as dreams often do, they sparked initiative and the Seaquists hopped off the rock. They hit the ground running, and their dreams came to life!

Thank you for being a part of our exciting and driven reality! ( The rock mentioned does exist! It sits on the playground, right outside the farm market. During your next visit, take a seat on that rock and do a little dreaming of your own. )

As Christmas Season Approaches…

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Hi folks!

I apologize for such a long pause between my last posting and now!  Let me catch you up to speed…

Quite like previous years, the fall proved to be our busiest time at Seaquist Orchards Farm Market! As quickly as the leaves fell to the ground, we harvested and supplied several varieties of apples.  Mr. Seaquist spent most of his days offering samples and advice in the Apple Barn.  Standing beside my dad was where most people spent their time while in the farm market. But many kids and adults also found themselves in the greenhouse, trying to find their way through our straw maze. (This year the maze had a slide!) Families return on a yearly basis, simply to squeeze through the maze and grab a bag of apples. We thank you for returning and making our business a family tradition!

We closed the doors for the season on Halloween day. Thank you again for supporting our local, family-owned and operated business. We are so thankful! Speaking of thankfulness…Thanksgiving is fast approaching! And Christmas as well! Our family gets together and enjoys a feast, but not without first acknowledging that God has blessed us time and again, especially in regards to the business. Christmas time is another family time when we recognize, as a group and individually, how blessed we are! Enjoy the season with your family and friends! Feel free to email Kristin or myself with your family traditions! We would love to hear your stories.

As you wisely shop this Christmas, please consider shopping at our online store! We have already assembled gift boxes or we can personally gift wrap products you choose. To view the online store, click here. If you would like to call in your order, please call 920-854-4199.

Thank you again for making our season a good one! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! To God be the Glory!

More Fruit! More Kittens!

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Hi there! It’s a beautiful Thursday, holding many possibilities! We hope you are enjoying the beauty of Door County. Feel so welcome to come into the farm market as a break from the sunshine. A cool cup of apple cider and a short sit on our porch does a lot of good…

Just a few updates on the fruit and family…

We now have Michigan Red Haven peaches available. Bright and juicy!

Also, we have another batch of kittens!! Please call us at the farm market (920-854-4199) or stop by and talk with my mom, Kristin. As much as we love the little kittens, 9 cats at the house are just too many!

Another batch of kittens!!

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Two days ago, 4 more kittens were born on the farm. Please come in and talk with Kristin about them! Another free batch!

In regards to cherries…

SWEET CHERRIES WILL BE IN TOMORROW!
