It has been the winter tradition for a group of Seaquists and their relatives to meet at a cabin in Upper Michigan for a long weekend. Each year, lots of love and laughter are shared! Skiing of all sorts, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, walks along the lake, movie nights, puzzles, knitting…We love to do it all! Here’s a glimpse of our fun together:

As posted on Facebook, A Short Story: The Dreamers’ Rock

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Hi folks! It’s been a few weeks…

Hoping the year has started off well for you! To brighten this moment, here’s a short story:

Once upon a time there were two dreamers who sat upon a rock and vigorously dreamt. They dreamt of jams and apple cider slushies, plump cherries and hay mazes, full bellies and beaming faces. The dreamers (Dale and Kristin Seaquist, of course) pondered the ways to best serve and invite customers; “How will we do it?” they thought. Well, as dreams often do, they sparked initiative and the Seaquists hopped off the rock. They hit the ground running, and their dreams came to life!

Thank you for being a part of our exciting and driven reality! ( The rock mentioned does exist! It sits on the playground, right outside the farm market. During your next visit, take a seat on that rock and do a little dreaming of your own. )

It’s Clean Up Your Computer Month
Tips for Being Resolute in Your Computer Caretaking
By Andrew Dyrdal – Albert Lea Tribune
Published Wednesday, January 13, 2010

As January begins, people trade fast food for fruit and flood the gym as they begin working on their weight-loss resolutions, but how many focus on their computer’s health?

National Clean Up Your Computer Month is an effort to remind technology owners to resolve to improve performance. A computer’s performance is affected greatly by what programs are installed on it and how files are organized.

As more and more of my work becomes connected to and done on various computers, I’m realizing the importance to maintain good “computer health.” Just a reminder for you to do the same; keep your computer well! traveling time

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

It’s that time of year – when we head out of town for gift shows, family trips, etc.  Last week it was the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, – looking for anything related to cherries, apples, Door County, orchards – you name it – we had our eyes peeled!  Yes, we found many new products, fun foods, – it will be a fun season at Seaquist Orchards Farm Market – that’s for sure!

And in between these trips – we meet, discuss, implement – all kinds of plans to make the next season at Seaquist Orchards fun and exciting for everyone.  Lots of that planning takes place around the wood stove – which is wonderful when it is below zero here in Sister Bay!

Thanksgiving already?

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Oh boy! Where has the time gone? Here it is, the day after Thanksgiving! I’d love to hear about your Thanksgiving – and we do hope that you had a very nice day and weekend. We had some of our family over for dinner, football, and what has become to be known as our “Internet Cafe”. Usually it is just the women (sorry about separating the women from the men – but I do think we like to shop more than they do…) Anyway, – we all set up our laptops, and check out the Black Friday specials, and laugh, drink lots of coffee, and of course, have pumpkin pie! (Cherry apple pie too!) Yesterday we had to spend a little time at Ecology Sports – one of our favorite places to shop in Door County. We’ve been busy! We cut our Christmas tree yesterday, decorated it, and then did our annual “Tour of Lights” – walking through the Seaquist yard, showing off our outdoor lights to each other! (We are easily amused!). Tomorrow the house will quiet down again – as Laura heads back to Wheaton College. Bonnie and Allen left today for Luther College and St. Olaf College – but they’ll all be back home soon. It’s difficult to stay away from Door County for very long!
